What is I-Ready? Based on the results of the i-Ready® Diagnostic, students are automatically placed into student instruction customized to their placement levels. These online lessons provide a consistent best-practice lesson structure and build conceptual understanding, in addition to being engaging and fun for learners of all levels.
STUDENTS MUST COMPLETE 60 minutes of MATH and 60 minutes READING PER WEEK.
What is AR (Accelerated Reader)?
The Accelerated Reader program is a computerized program that tests reading comprehension. Students select books on their reading level, read independently, and take an independent comprehension test on the computer. Each book is worth a certain number of points based on its length and reading level.
Students should take at least 2 quizzes in class per week. Students are responsible for bringing their library books to school and taking their quizzes. Students are permitted to log on several times throughout the day.
What is Class DOJO?
ClassDojo is a behavior management tool for the classroom. Each student has a profile – complete with their own avatar – to which teachers can assign positive and negative points (or 'dojos') throughout the day. My favorite part of class dojo is the parent communication. Parents can instant message me with any comments, questions or concerns. It's much easier than having to write an e-mail.
What is Remind 101?
Remind101 is a one-way broadcast system. Teachers cannot send individual messages to students and parents and they cannot reply. I mostly use remind 101 to send short reminders like dress down tomorrow, donations needed, etc.
Math Homework! Math homework is completed in the math practice workbook. The workbook goes home and stays in your child's backpack or in a very safe place at home. Students will write the correct math page in their agenda, complete the page for homework and rip out the work and place it in their homework folders. Please do not complete pages that have not been assigned.
